Overview
Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a TS/SCI clearance to support our government customer in Washington DC. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of complex Oracle database environments supporting FBI operations. Principal responsibilities include: Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle database solutions for large-scale FBI projects Create and optimize SQL/PL-SQL code to improve system functionality and performance Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, and storage management Develop comprehensive data models and implement effective data migration strategies Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard solutions for high availability and disaster recovery Establish and maintain database security protocols in accordance with FBI requirements Configure and maintain Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments Monitor database systems for performance issues and implement solutions Conduct database backups, recovery, and replication procedures Develop and maintain database documentation, including standard operating procedures Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and FBI stakeholders Provide technical guidance to junior database administrators Deliver regular status reports and participate in project planning meetings Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field 8+ years of relevant professional experience in Oracle database administration and development 6+ years of experience working with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition (versions 11g through 19c) Experience supporting database environments in federal government settings, preferably law enforcement or intelligence agencies Demonstrated experience in database design, performance tuning, and optimization Experience with Oracle security features and compliance with federal security standards Required Skills and Competencies
Expert-level knowledge of Oracle database administration, SQL, and PL/SQL development Advanced experience with Oracle Data Guard, RAC, ASM, and RMAN Proficiency with Oracle database performance tuning, including SQL tuning, AWR analysis, and optimization of tunable parameters Strong understanding of database security principles and their implementation within Oracle environments Experience with Oracle Exadata and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Demonstrated ability to design and implement database backup and recovery strategies Expertise in database migrations, upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) for automation of DBA tasks Experience working in Linux/Unix environments Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain required TS/SCI security clearance Desired Skills and Competencies
Experience supporting FBI systems or other law enforcement/intelligence agency databases Current security clearance Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for replication Knowledge of database containerization using Docker or similar technologies Experience with Oracle Multitenant architecture Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines as they relate to database changes Experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition options such as Partitioning, Advanced Security, and Advanced Compression Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and implementation Experience with cloud database migrations Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management procedures Equal Employment Opportunity
