Tax Manager
to join our team in the Redlands, CA office. This role offers excellent growth opportunities within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have
6+ years of progressive tax experience , including staff supervision, tax planning, and review of complex returns. A CPA license is required. The candidate should demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of tax law and compliance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively. Essential Functions:
Manage and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. Assume responsibility for tax planning, supervising and completing engagements on time and within budget. Review engagement workpapers, resolve any problems, and keep the partner informed of all important developments in the engagement. Proficient in firm technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, tax preparation software (CCH Axcess, ProSystem FX), time and billing systems, email, and internet tools. Serve as the main point of contact for a designated group of clients. Review and respond to IRS and state agency communications on behalf of clients. Supervise, mentor, and train tax staff and seniors, providing performance feedback and supporting professional development. Participate in strategic planning for client services and firm development efforts. Assist with onboarding new clients and identify opportunities to expand services for existing clients. Stay current with federal, state, and local tax developments and firm policies. Conduct technical research and provide guidance on tax issues and legislation. Assist in administrative functions and other duties assigned by the firm’s partners. Working Conditions:
Involves working in the firm's office or on the client's premises. Work on the client's premises may require the use of the team member's personal car. Must present a positive public image that enhances the client's perception of the employee and the firm as a whole. Overtime may be required during peak seasons. Experience/Training:
CPA or EA license required 6+ years progressive tax experience, including 3+ years in management. Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance and planning. Proficiency in tax software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office. Excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills. Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines. Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000
