The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a part-time Ophthalmologist (20 hours per week) to join our multi-specialty vision clinic in Roxbury, MA. This position is ideal for a skilled clinician committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered eye care in a community-based, outpatient setting. You’ll work alongside optometrists, technicians, and administrative staff in a supportive, mission-driven environment dedicated to advancing health equity. Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ocular diseases and disorders Conduct ophthalmic surgeries including cataract, glaucoma, corneal, vitreoretinal, and oculoplastic procedures Prescribe and administer medications, corrective lenses, and ophthalmologic therapies Perform laser procedures and other treatments for a range of eye conditions Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients on preventive eye care Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care and make specialist referrals as needed Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts Current BLS certification Proven clinical experience as an Ophthalmologist Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork abilities Expert knowledge of eye diseases, anatomy, and ophthalmic procedures Join Our Team
