Full-Time and Per-Diem Pediatric Hospitalists
to join the Department of Pediatrics at
Jersey City Medical Center
(JCMC) in Jersey City, NJ. This opportunity offers a dynamic hospital setting with a commitment to education, collaboration, and quality pediatric care.
Position Overview:
The Pediatric Hospitalist will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of pediatric inpatient care, with a focus on resident education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and clinical excellence.
The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
The anticipated pay for per diem if hired to work is $120/hour.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support the care delivered by resident physicians for hospitalized pediatric patients.
Conduct clinical rounds and provide bedside teaching to resident staff.
Ensure appropriate and timely follow-up of labs, imaging, and communication between care teams and families.
Review and oversee all pediatric admissions and resident documentation for accuracy.
Provide thorough sign-out to incoming hospitalists and ensure smooth patient transitions.
Serve as a liaison between resident staff and attending pediatricians when needed.
Manage care for patients whose pediatricians are not on staff and arrange appropriate follow-up.
Respond to pediatric consultations and emergency codes throughout the hospital.
Maintain timely and complete documentation for billing and compliance purposes.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
Prior hospitalist experience or pediatric inpatient care preferred
