Overview
The Division of Nephrology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks to employ an open rank Transplant Nephrologist. The position involves clinical services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) and at the medical school’s academic practices. The role focuses on direct care of renal and pancreas transplant candidates, recipients, and living donors, including pre-transplant evaluation, inpatient care, and post-transplant management in the outpatient clinic. The transplant nephrologist will also assist the on-call general nephrologist for transplant-related issues and participate in daily transplant teaching rounds, didactic lectures, and interdisciplinary rounds while on the inpatient transplant service. The position is part of Rutgers Health and RWJ/Barnabas Health, the largest health system in NJ, with opportunities for growth within the nephrology program.
Responsibilities
Direct care of renal and pancreas transplant candidates, recipients, and living donors (pre-transplant evaluation, inpatient care, and post-transplant management in the outpatient clinic).
Assist the on-call general nephrologist for transplant-related issues.
Participate in daily transplant teaching rounds for fellows and house staff, including didactic lectures and interdisciplinary rounds on the inpatient transplant service.
Review charts, laboratory studies, radiology and diagnostic studies for transplant candidates and recipients.
Other related duties as assigned within the transplant nephrology service.
Qualifications
MD/DO or equivalent.
Board eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Nephrology.
