Overview
Hello all, We are urgently looking for ABEM certified or eligible Emergency Medicine physicians to work in Crownpoint, NM.
Position Overview: We are seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians to staff the ER at an Indian Health Service hopsital in Navajo Nation.
Location & Population The facility serves a population of 20,000 Navajo people. The staff consists of primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, at a 20 bed hospital. FY20 showed a daily inpatient load of 4, outpatient visits was 129,239; annual OB visits at 717, and the annual emergency room cases number of about 14,643.
The Emergency Department schedule is divided into three 12-hour shifts: 8am - 8pm (day), 10am - 10pm (swing), and 8pm - 8am (night).
The facility is located in Northwest New Mexico, on the Eastern edge of the Navajo Reservation, only a few hours drive North to the Southern Rockies, or East to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. World Class skiing is close and the area has superb hiking and fishing opportunity.

Patients per shift: 10-25 (varies based on day and night shifts)
Shift times: Day- 8am to 8pm; Swing- 10am to 10pm; Night- 8pm to 8am
Pediatric patients- 40%
Adult patients- 60%
Specialties available- Surgery, OB
Support staff is available- Lab, X-Ray, CRNA, AVERA telemedicine, Hospitalist (not overnight), EMS Services
Critical patients patients are transferred out
Candidates must be
Committed to rural, Tribal, and underserved healthcare
Compassionate, mission-driven social medicine practitioners
Interested in joining a dynamic and potentially disruptive social healthcare enterprise
ABEM certified or eligible
Licensed in any state active, unrestricted license
Completed a US residency program
Not had a loss of licensure or suspended licensure
Not had a lapse in practice > 6 months leading up to assignment
No malpractice issues
Active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
Able to commit to a minimum of 7 shifts a month
