The Marketplace Trust & Pricing team within Expedia Group’s Yield & Analytics organization serves as the Product Analytics specialists for our two-sided marketplace. We deliver data-driven insights that power a scalable, profitable, and high-quality marketplace benefiting travelers, partners, and Expedia alike. Our team tackles technically complex problems, from deep-dive analysis and incremental impact assessments to developing machine learning prototypes that inform product development across the lifecycle. In this role, you will design and build data models, collaborate closely with Machine Learning teams, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that help shape product roadmaps. In this role, you will: Translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytics and research questions. Build scalable data models and apply advanced statistical methods to generate insights and measure impact. Collaborate with Machine Learning teams, leveraging ML methods when appropriate. Work with large, complex data sources to uncover patterns and develop actionable recommendations. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to refine business questions and ensure insights inform product decisions. Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear narratives and visualizations. Balance rapid-response projects with longer-term initiatives that shape product roadmaps. Experience & Qualifications: A PhD, Master\'s, or Bachelor\'s degree (preferably in Mathematics or a scientific discipline) with 2-4 years of work experience, or at least 5 years in a similar data analytics role with relevant expertise. Applies business acumen in conjunction with technical knowledge to select techniques and designs for addressing business questions (e.g., pre/post analysis, causal impact, multivariate methods, multi-armed bandit), defines and constructs datasets and models, and interprets outputs within the business context. Advanced understanding of the relevant business domain to refine project questions, direct model design decisions, and provide recommendations such as model enhancements, business process changes, AB tests, or further analyses. Experience delivering iterative projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and evolving objectives based on insights; experience with machine learning teams is preferred. Frames business challenges as analytics problems and presents coherent narratives with actionable insights to technical and non-technical audiences. Maintains regular communication with stakeholders, proactively addressing issues, proposing solutions, and meeting critical deadlines. Demonstrated ability to deliver multi-quarter, data-driven insights that lead to measurable improvements. Advanced proficiency in R or Python for data analysis, data structuring, transformation, and visualization of large datasets. Builds basic machine learning models when appropriate and understands evaluation, iteration, and trade-offs. The total cash range for this position is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to earn up to $220,000.00 based on performance. Starting pay varies by location, budget, and experience; pay ranges may be modified in the future.
