**Job Summary**
The Director of Finance is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated financial structure which includes Budgeting, Revenue Forecasting, Compensation, Financial Reporting and Strategic Planning. This position will work in conjunction with the Unified Administrator to develop and assist in the implementation of the Department's integration into the Montefiore Health System, ensuring long-term sustainability and financial growth for the Department of Urology.Responsible for all aspects of financial management for clinical operations & quality improvement, as well as research administration in conjunction with AECOM and the department's assistant director of research. Collaborates with Health System leadership and colleagues for the development of clinical and financial management and program quality and safety initiatives. Implements planning, operating and accountability systems that ensure the continuing growth and success of the department. Works closely with physician leadership and other physician members to ensure alignment between the clinical and academic missions of the program. Demonstrates and promotes the values of the department.
**Essential Functions*** Develop and implement financial management systems, enabling the department to meet its objectives within budgetary constraints. The Director of Finance works with other departments within the institution to identify and resolve issues impacting on its funds and budgets.* Monitor all practice expenses.
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process for each Urology location; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keeps senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status. Ensure departmental budgetary goals are met.
\* To ensure that departmental expenses are charged to the appropriate funds, are legitimate departmental expenses and do not exceed budgetary limits.
\* Expenses vs. budget
\* Monitor the special funds and departmental funds to ensure that they are in a positive balance.* Research/ Quality.
Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Work in conjunction with Urology Quality & Research Teams to develop strategy for programmatic growth, monitor budgets, develop multi-year tracking. Manage and oversee financial reporting and spending for all accounts, including gift and endowment accounts.
\* To ensure that AECOM intercharges are appropriate and within budgetary guidelines. To ensure study revenue/expenses are accounted for and and allocated properly.* Contract Management.
Oversee contract management and financial management / reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements. Develop analysis and business plans/pro formas in support of new external initiatives.
\* Reimbursement of department resources for services rendered to other institutions.
\* Timely and accurate billing.* Budgets.
Preparation of practice and teaching budgets. Create reports to assist Chair and Administrator to ensure financial targets are met. Provide recommendations to enhance practice income.
\* Establish targets
\* Accuracy of budget.
\* Budget variances.* Identify, recommend, develop, and support the implementation of new business initiatives and opportunities.
Assist in the development of new sources of professional and technical revenue and its management. Partner with Professional Services & Hospital Finance teams.
Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual.
\* Prepare financial statement for the department.
\* Develop sustainable financial policies.* Unified Administrator & Chair Support.
Independently manage and oversee the administrative and financial operations of the department.
In conjunction with, develop and implement sustainable business strategies to meet department financial goals and facilitate strategic decisions. Analyze trends, produe financial forecasts, and prepare financial models to ensure budgeted net worth and income goals are achieved.
\* Ensure targets are met and Administrator is up to date with all information.
\* Create and monitor reports. Take initiative and analyze shortfalls.* Provider KPIs & Compensation.
Establish and monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the physicians and department’s overall financial progress toward goals.
Partner with Leadership to develop compensation strategies.
\* Prepare & review physician KPI reporting.
**Qualifications*** BS Required* MBA Preferred* 10+ years Required* SAP and Outlook* Computer literacy* High functionality with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, Data and Word processing software
