Sr. Distinguished Engineer - SDUI (Remote Eligible) As a Sr. Distinguished Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of a community of technical experts working to define the future of banking in the cloud. You will work with our team of developers, machine learning experts, product managers and people leaders. Distinguished Engineers lead technically, helping devise practical and reusable solutions to complex problems and driving innovation across the organization. You will promote engineering excellence, mentor internal talent, and actively recruit to grow Capital One Tech. You will lead through technical contribution as a trusted advisor for key technologies, platforms and capability domains, creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts and other knowledge sharing materials. You will specialize in a subject area while providing impact throughout the organization. In this role, you will define and drive the technical strategy for Server-Driven UI Frameworks, Platforms and Developer Experience Tooling and workflows that power cross-platform user experiences across mobile and web. This high-leverage role involves crafting the full-stack architecture to empower dozens of teams to build and iterate dynamic, high-performance user experiences. Key responsibilities
Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for your domain
Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions
Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation
Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics such as performance, scalability and operability
Continue learning and injecting advanced technical knowledge into our community
Handle several projects simultaneously, balancing your time to maximize impact
Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community, coaching and strengthening the technical expertise of engineering and product teams
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
At least 9 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
At least 2 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
10+ years of professional experience coding in Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin
10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development
5+ years designing and building an end-to-end SDUI platform
5+ years of deep experience in client-side architecture for mobile (iOS/Android)
3+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to work within the listed locations and reflect the offer at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated.
Remote (Regardless of Location): $280,600 - $320,200
Chicago, IL: $280,600 - $320,200
McLean, VA: $308,700 - $352,300
New York, NY: $336,700 - $384,200
Plano, TX: $280,600 - $320,200
Richmond, VA: $280,600 - $320,200
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. The actual annualized salary amount offered will be reflected in the offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
