We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk framework. This role will collaborate across multiple functions, products and geographies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, and will contribute to board-level reporting and strategic risk planning. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ERM, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence senior leadership in a dynamic, high-growth environment. This role reports to the VP of Corporate Strategy and is based in Providence, RI, with a hybrid working environment. ERM Strategy & Framework

Design, implement, and continuously improve the global ERM framework aligned with company strategy and regulatory requirements. Develop risk appetite statements and risk tolerance thresholds in collaboration with executive leadership.

Risk Identification & Assessment

Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments, including strategic, operational, financial, compliance, cybersecurity, and reputational risks. Facilitate risk workshops and scenario planning with business units and corporate functions.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting

Assist with implementation and maintenance of ERM technology solutions, including development of risk dashboards, heat maps, and KRIs. Present risk insights and mitigation strategies to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and senior leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Legal, Finance, IT, Security, Product, HR, and other teams to embed risk management into decision-making processes. Support internal audit and compliance functions with risk-based planning and execution. Prepare risk insights and mitigation strategies for senior leadership and board committees.

Technology & Innovation Risk

Assess risks related to emerging technologies, AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, data privacy, and global product launches. Stay ahead of regulatory developments and industry trends impacting the tech sector.

Crisis Management & Business Continuity

Assist in business continuity planning and crisis response protocols. Participate in post-incident reviews and risk remediation efforts. Oversee other special projects and strategic initiatives that ERM becomes involved with.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business, finance, or a related field; Master’s or MBA preferred. 10+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, preferably in a global technology or innovation-driven company. Strong understanding of regulatory environments (e.g., GDPR, SOX, ISO 31000, NIST). Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Proven ability to synthesize key messages and takeaways into concise, well-crafted presentations for a senior audience. Certifications such as CRM, FRM, or CERA are a plus. Key Skills

At Brightstar, compensation considers factors such as background, skills, experience, and work location. The estimated starting compensation range is $117,880 - $240,000, and actual pay may vary. The Company will comply with local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements where applicable. Base pay is one part of Total Rewards. Sales roles may be eligible for commissions; other roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a 401(k) Savings Plan with company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance (eligibility requirements apply).
