About the Job.
JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Counsel to join our Legal team located in Dallas, TX.
JPI seeks a highly skilled and creative Real Estate and Transactions Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate has experience in real estate law, particularly transactions involving land acquisitions and development, complex capital (including debt and equity), purchase and sale agreements, and other related transaction documents.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Provide legal support in land acquisition and closing transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Conduct thorough due diligence on real estate transactions, including title reviews, zoning regulations, and environmental assessments.
Assist legal team in negotiating and preparing purchase and sale agreements, various service agreements, loan documents for construction financing, and joint venture agreements.
Support legal and other company business units in closing complicated real estate transactions in multiple jurisdictions.

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing.
3+ years of experience practicing real estate law, with a focus on transactions related to the acquisition, disposition, and development of multifamily projects.
Proven experience in negotiating and drafting complex real estate financing documents.
Strong understanding of legal concepts associated with land closing, due diligence, and transaction documents.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
