(RFS), a growing 105+-person consulting engineering firm with offices in Laconia, NH, Boston, MA, and Portland, ME is seeking candidates to join our talented and team-focused staff. RFS project types include college / university, healthcare, laboratory, private secondary school, public K-12 school, commercial, industrial, government, and historic preservation with a focus on sustainable design. Responsibilities
Develop building energy models to optimize envelope and building system designs using energy simulation software (eQuest/DOE 2.3 and/or IES Virtual Environment). Analyze regional energy codes, system electrification / decarbonization, utility data, and renewable energy systems; perform life cycle cost analyses using BLCC-5 or similar calculation methodologies. Prepare technical writing and documentation with strong attention to detail. Collaborate on large-scale, high-profile building projects throughout the Northeast US. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in energy engineering or building energy modeling. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering preferred. Experience with energy codes, electrification / decarbonization, utility data analysis, renewable energy systems, and life cycle cost analysis (BLCC-5 or similar). Certifications: Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP), and/or LEED AP, or an interest in obtaining relevant certifications. Location
