Sr. Pharmacy Consultant (Mid-America) – BD Nogales Norte
Job Description Summary: The Senior Pharmacy Consultant is responsible for the maintenance of customer relationships in assigned accounts, maintaining a high level of customer service at or above expectations, and demonstrating accountability for their part in the BD Sales Process. This position serves as an IV therapy, drug data set, pharmacy informatics educator, planner, and clinical expert for BD customers. The Senior Pharmacy Consultant provides consultation to facilities considering or using BD infusion products. The position leads presentations and discussions with key individuals or groups to address pharmacy issues and/or concerns, provides assessments, and offers the clinical value of the BD solution.

Overall Responsibilities
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of relevant clinical operations, products, and services.
Provides pharmacy leadership to BD customers in the implementation of interoperability and connectivity products.
Interacts with and supports the Project Manager to ensure timely and productive implementations.
Collaborates with clinical consulting and EMR vendor to facilitate a data set/drug library creation and configuration development for the customer and map to third party formulary.
Resolves best intravenous drug infusion practices and generates data about current intravenous drug use for policy and procedure development.
Facilitates discussions on defining workflows, protocol developments and updates, and resource group development.
Assists in analysis of potential harm associated with various Guardrails events with an eye toward additional reporting capabilities, based on clinical pharmacy expertise and drug knowledge.
Provides basic HL7 message interpretation and issue resolution to customers and escalates to technical SME when appropriate.
Follows up with customers according to department guidelines to assess systems, solve problems, and evaluate BD products/solutions; develops recommendations to ensure customers experience full benefits and capabilities of implemented solutions.
Skills, Duties and Tasks Particular to the Job Communication
Facilitation of conference calls and customer meetings primarily for large hospital systems and IDNs for BD Medication Systems Infusion product implementations.
Establishes rapport with customers to foster long-term business relationships.
Provides team support and product information on BD Medication Systems Infusion products; mentors team members to ensure product and process competency.
Manages customer teams, gains consensus within teams, and delivers concise and consistent communication.
Guides review of customer site assessment and facilitates project design and implementation of BD Medication Systems Infusion products and technologies.
Provides feedback to Business Operations and Field Trainer for continuous improvement of implementation methodology, tools, and services.
Technical
Demonstrates expert knowledge of large hospital systems and IDN-level pharmacy workflow processes, data set/drug library builds, and pharmacy system integration.
Interacts with cross-functional teams and guides projects in large hospital systems and IDN-level health networks.
Applies BD Medication Systems Infusion implementation methodologies and tools; supports standardization across health systems.
Offers advanced problem solving and system consultation related to pharmacy workflow and best practices.
Installs and supports BD Medication Systems Infusion hardware and software; influences customer acceptance and utilization in multi-site environments.
Mentors team members on products, guidelines, and customer education; serves as a customer support resource when needed.
Demonstrates expertise with BD Medication Systems Infusion products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
5-10 years of experience in a related field.
Current active pharmacy license required.
Acute care hospital experience preferred, preferably with pharmacy informatics experience.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel; travel may be 25-75% with overnight travel. Flexible working hours including some nights and weekends. Ability to work independently from home office.
Must lift a minimum of 40 lbs and be able to perform related physical tasks.
Preferred
Specific knowledge of BD business is highly desired.

Salary Range Information
$109,700.00 - $180,800.00 USD Annual
