Responsibilities

Work heavily in the field with construction monitoring, drilling, water/soil sampling.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and support team members to address client goals and objectives.

Develop strong client relationships by understanding client needs.

Manage financial and technical aspects of project tasks.

Communicate changes, problems, and client requests promptly.

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and client deliverables and regulatory submittals.

Identify and communicate technical issues, contribute to technical approaches, and execute tasks to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.

Assist in safety program preparation and implementation; adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans; participate in site safety briefings and audits as applicable.

Monitor subsurface exploration and testing activities to collect soil, bedrock, and groundwater samples; perform soil classification and collect information for project design per ASTM standards and company procedures.

Provide construction monitoring/on-site engineering observation for geotechnical and environmental projects.

Compile, reduce, analyze, manage, and report field, instrumentation, geological, and environmental data.

Interpret and communicate technical aspects of projects to onsite personnel.

Support coaching and mentoring of team members.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.

M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering required.

0-2 years of relevant geotechnical experience with on-site construction monitoring; experience with excavation, dewatering, temporary excavation support, and/or slope stability evaluations; coal combustion residuals experience a plus.

EIT Certification is a plus; PE certification a plus.

Knowledge of geotechnical instrumentation programs, ground movement studies, and monitoring data communication.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong work ethic and flexibility.

Proficiency in MS Office; data management skills.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites and the office; willingness to travel for temporary assignments.

OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hr Construction Site Safety training preferred (or provided as needed).
