About This Opportunity
We are seeking an
Industrial Energy Efficiency Program Outreach Engineer (Energy Coach)
who coordinates Utility-offered industrial energy efficiency programs and resources for Central and Northern California. The Outreach Engineer acts as the main point of contact and connects with the California industrial network to proactively build and maintain relationships that lead to natural gas and electric efficiency project opportunities. The Outreach Engineer works closely with utility and program staff and acts as the facilitator between industrial customers, vendors, implementation contractors, and energy efficiency service providers.
What You Will Be Doing
Leveraging and building relationships with project engineers, program and support staff, vendors, and customers to deliver the industrial energy efficiency program
Engaging with all vendors to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Managing multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced consulting environment
Identifying opportunities for new and better energy solutions
Tracking and coordinating with regional energy efficiency program stakeholders to identify areas for collaboration
Applying consultative selling techniques and recommending program offerings to prospective vendors based on their business needs
Representing program requirements thoroughly and accurately
Effectively utilizing available technical resources as appropriate
Providing regular reporting of lead generation, project status, or other data
This is a
full-time, exempt position
located in
either the Bay Area, Fresno, or Sacramento, CA . No in-office requirements, but travel to customer sites is approximately once per week.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5+ years of related experience
General knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency technologies, programs, and policies with familiarity in energy use analysis and energy auditing
Deep knowledge of energy efficiency opportunities related to boilers, furnaces, pumps, fans, and compressors
Solid understanding of industrial processes (i.e. what systems use energy, how they use energy, and methods for reducing energy use)
A successful candidate should also demonstrate these
preferred characteristics and/or skills :
Experience with utility funded energy efficiency or demand side management programs
Experience working with industrial customers and existing relationships with large food processing facilities and manufacturers
Knowledge and understanding of California energy regulations
Knowledge of project financial metrics and how projects are sold to upper management
Technical sales experience

Compensation & Benefits

The target hiring ranges by location are:
Bay Area, CA: $92,880 - $116,160 - $139,440/year
Fresno, CA: $77,400 - $96,800 - $116,200/year
Sacramento, CA: $85,200 - $106,480 - $127,820/year
Offers are typically made between minimum and midpoint to support pay equity and fairness; final salary may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
