Functions as a technical specialist; supervise multi-discipline engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity; provide technical guidance across projects and disciplines. Proactively provides guidance on design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and B&V policies. May own or develop engineering standards and guides and mentor others. Ensure compliance with B&V quality program; support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects; conduct complex research and recommend equipment/material selections; manage data for engineering work. Develop complex engineering calculations; manage budgets, schedules, and quality; apply advanced engineering solutions; lead or coordinate multiple discipline activities; supervise task delegation and review work of others. Coordinate with internal/external teams on complex projects; define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines. Identify client interests and drivers; communicate these to the project team and develop approaches to address them in project performance. Identify future client needs and position B&V for opportunities; may support business development or pursuit activities. Serve as a technical specialist in broad or specialized areas; develop advanced concepts; support multiple projects with complex technical challenges; may interact with professional societies and senior engineering leadership. Oversee performance management, career development, recognition, learning, and development; mentor lower and mid-level professionals. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. Active engineering registration/licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects where applicable. Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience in 69kV to 500kV overhead transmission line design; working knowledge of Power Line system software (e.g., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE). Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards for the discipline. Experience interfacing with clients to build relationships and pursue opportunities. Additional Relevant Experience (Preferred by Client)
Design of utility-scale electrical transmission systems. Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations. 3D analysis and design software for structural steel and concrete components. Certifications
Active engineering registration or licensure to support EOR requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and support where necessary. Work Environment
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days. Opportunity may be located across BV offices in the U.S. Some positions may be relocation eligible. Speak with a recruiter for relocation details. Compensation
Annual compensation range applicable for the job/location: $173,429.00 - $344,788.00.
