Summary
The Director Workday Reporting and Data Analytics manages the strategy, development, and support of Workday reporting and data analytics needs across all Workday modules. This role ensures that reporting and data needs align with institutional goals, performance standards, and cross-functional needs. This role ensures consistency, quality, and compliance in reporting practices and leads a team of analysts and developers to deliver actionable insights and business responsive reports. This role makes a significant contribution to decisions concerning the implementation and development of institutional reporting tools, including Workday Reporting and Prism. Primary Responsibilities
Define and manage the reporting strategy across Workday modules and other applications which rely on HR and Financial data. Partner with the BI Reporting team to develop both short- and long-term strategies for the storage and utilization of historical data, ensuring alignment with the needs of the internal Workday team as well as broader enterprise data requirements. Ensure compliance with security, performance, and data integrity standards. Oversee the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analytics. Establish reporting standards, governance, and documentation practices. Provide guidance on report design standards, naming conventions, and security compliance. Coordinate with functional teams to prioritize reporting needs and ensure timely delivery. Lead a team of data analysts and report developers. Maintain active participation in the Workday community to stay ahead of platform innovations, share best practices, and bring external insights into the MCW data ecosystem. Partner with leaders and business analysists from Information Services, Business Intelligence, Finance, Human Resources, and the Solution Center to make decisions about the selection and long-term build-out of reporting tools, including MCWs BI applications, and Workday Reporting and Prism. Stay informed about the Workday roadmap for reporting functions and applications; regularly communicate this information to Solution Center and MCW leadership in various forums through written communication and presentations. Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume queue of projects and/or technical tasks. Demonstrated experience creating, communicating, and enforcing procedures for recurring activities such as report writing, project management, and/or application development. Demonstrated experience engaging with end-users to understand technical and/or reporting requirements and setting expectations about priority and turnaround timeframes. Experience with reporting tools such as Workday Report Writer, Composite Reports, Dashboards, and Prism Analytics, or equivalent experience with other enterprise applications. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools used for historical data storage and retrieval. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI and SQL desired. Knowledge of data privacy, compliance and security standards. Ability to align reporting and analytics strategy with organizational goals and performance metrics. Skilled in identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities through data analysis to inform decision-making. Preferred Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:00-5:00 Position Requirements
Qualifications
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis. Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree Minimum Required Experience: 8+ years of total relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience Why MCW?
