Overview
(RN) Registered Nurse - ICU (Nights) - 135786 at UC San Diego Health. This role is located at the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center in the CVICU and involves caring for high-acuity adult patients, including heart and transplant-related cases. Responsibilities
Identify and implement nursing interventions for a wide variety of patient populations within the CVICU, including heart and lung transplant, PTE patients, CABGs, valves, TAVRs, and Ventricular Assist Devices including Total Artificial Hearts. Direct and act as a resource to all other members of the nursing team; promote compliance with policies and procedures and maintain professional relationships. Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on high-quality patient care and collaboration across disciplines. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire, with commitment to obtain ART within six months of hire date. Minimum of one year of recent adult ICU experience (Pediatric ICU experience will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis). Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with professional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Adherence to UCSD Health Medical Center CARE standards of performance and professionalism in attire, attitude, conversation, behavior, and attentiveness. Effective communication skills to promote collaboration, teamwork, and an inclusive workplace culture. Preferred Qualifications
BSN degree. CT/Heart experience. CCR N, CSC, and CMC certifications. Experience with cardiothoracic patients and devices (balloon pumps, CRRT, and/or VAD). Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and different locations based on the Medical Center's needs. Selected candidate may be hired at CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
