L&Es provides solid rocket motors; missile, target, and rocket solutions; and space launch and missile defense capabilities to U.S. Government (military and civilian agencies including significant NASA programs) and commercial customers. L&E’s main offices and operations are located at campuses outside of Salt Lake City, Utah; Chandler, Arizona; and D.C./Northern Virginia metro areas. Responsibilities and qualifications reflect the needs of this role and are listed below. Responsibilities
Counsel on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, negotiation, execution and administration of U.S. Government and commercial prime contracts and subcontracts; advise and coordinate with various business and legal specialists inside the company on matters related to intellectual property, environmental, health, safety, real estate and property, human resources, internal investigations, supply chain, export/import compliance, litigation, and employment and labor relations. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications – Corporate Counsel 1: Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant U.S. Government contracting experience; member of an appropriate state bar and/or ability to maintain in-house licensure status in the work location; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. Government and commercial contracting experience at a law firm, U.S. Government agency, and/or in-house legal department; ability to analyze complex legal concepts and communicate effectively. Basic Qualifications – Corporate Counsel 2: Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant U.S. Government contracting experience; member of an appropriate state bar and/or ability to maintain in-house licensure status in the work location; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. Government and commercial contracting experience at a law firm, U.S. Government agency, and/or in-house legal department; ability to analyze complex legal concepts and communicate effectively. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting U.S. Government programs and/or complex commercial transactions as in-house counsel, plus law firm or Government agency experience; experience supporting clients and interfacing with customers in the defense/intelligence communities; expertise with FAR, DFAR, NASA FAR/Supplement, and other U.S. Government agencies’ rules and practices; litigation and/or investigative experience; active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher. This Corporate Counsel position will be located ideally in the Salt Lake City, Utah area, or possibly the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia metro area for the right candidate. Relocation assistance may be available. Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $178,600.00 - $256,800.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $196,600.00 - $282,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
