Overview
As Director of Software, you will take full ownership of the software function across the organisation. You’ll provide strategic and technical leadership, guiding teams through the development of high-quality, compliant, and scalable software for our next-generation medical devices. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in healthcare technology while ensuring our products meet rigorous regulatory and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary software engineering team. Define and implement the company’s software strategy across embedded systems, cloud, and connected devices. Oversee the full software lifecycle – from design and development to testing, deployment, and maintenance. Partner with hardware, R&D, quality, and product teams to deliver integrated solutions. Ensure all software activities comply with relevant medical device standards (FDA, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971). Drive adoption of best practices, including Agile, CI/CD, and modern DevOps processes. Explore and introduce new technologies such as AI/ML, digital health platforms, and cybersecurity frameworks. Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery. Core Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles. Proven experience in the medical devices or healthcare technology sector (or other highly regulated environments). Strong technical background across embedded software, cloud platforms, and connected systems. Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks (FDA, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, HIPAA, GDPR). A collaborative leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Passion for leveraging technology to improve patient care. What We Offer
