This is a remote position for Costa Rica and Colombia. This position is remote to work with a US company; you will require citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica or Colombia to apply for this role. Responsibilities
Develop, debug & maintain large-scale eCommerce Java web applications on proprietary eCommerce platform, supporting all phases of the software development life cycle. Write high-quality Java code following industry standards and best practices. Adopt a customer-centric attitude and investigate issues to provide effective solutions. Articulate pathways for quickly solving customer issues and removing impediments during the shopping experience. Create & maintain technical and on-call documentation. Have familiarity with Oracle DB to create and execute queries. Use Linux commands to operate on Linux-based systems. Work with Git, Docker, Maven, and Ant scripts in a local development environment. Utilize Jira to manage the life cycle of tickets. Understand basic concepts of B2C & B2B commerce infrastructures. Have basic familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Ensure high code quality through thorough unit testing and familiarity with jUnit. Collaborate with QA, DevOps, IT, and ERP teams to reproduce issues, understand deployment processes, and meet integration needs. Communicate clearly with peers and stakeholders about problem statements, user impact, technical resolution, and next steps. Participate in on-call rotations. Qualifications
College degree in Computer Science, or similar. Minimum of 2+ years of strong experience working with complex Java-based applications. Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, talented team. Sense of urgency to address problems and provide status updates in a team environment. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong customer focus and outstanding communication skills. Knowledge of tools such as FullStory, AppDynamics, SoapUI, Postman is a plus.
