General Manager, Developer Experience and Cloud We’re looking for a General Manager – Developer Experience and Cloud to lead the implementation of Toyota’s cloud strategy from a technical perspective. This role involves design, planning, integration, maintenance and support of cloud architecture. You will work with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions. The position reports to the Vice President-Information Cybersecurity, TMNA + PGM, ISTM Division, TMC and will join the Cloud Engineering & Software Development Support team to build and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and systems. This position is based at our North American headquarters in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering: Acts as a trusted advisor to executives, offering strategic insights on organizational planning, workforce development, and cybersecurity risk mitigation. Leads cross-departmental innovation in products, services, and processes to align with business goals and market needs. Drives enterprise-wide change by thinking like an owner and optimizing operations with a focus on measurable outcomes.

Architectural & Technical Strategy: Oversees DevSecOps and cloud engineering initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and agile cloud solutions aligned with business objectives. Embeds with project teams to maintain architectural integrity and implement unified governance frameworks across large-scale efforts.

Problem Solving & Methodology: Tackles complex, high-impact challenges with diplomacy and expertise, creating innovative strategies that influence multiple business functions.

Leadership & Development: Mentors cross-functional teams in cloud and cybersecurity domains, fostering a culture of continuous learning, automation, and strategic alignment.

What You Bring

Minimum of 20 years of technology experience.

Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent and relevant professional work experience.

Proven track record of leading large-scale teams and managing complex projects in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and/or architecture.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and lead teams across multiple disciplines and strategies.

Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud security best practices, and enterprise technologies.

Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM) and containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Extensive knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Advanced degree.

Expertise in one or more cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Infrastructure as Code proficiency (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Ansible, Puppet).

Containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker Swarm).

CI/CD and version control tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).

DevOps & DevSecOps practices, including automation, security testing, compliance checks, monitoring and logging tooling.

Programming/scripting (Java, Python, C#, Go, Bash, Groovy).

Monitoring & Observability tools (New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, Nagios, Zabbix).

Microservices & API management (REST, GraphQL, API Gateways, Service Mesh).

Collaboration & project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack) and Agile/Scrum experience.

Certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional, CKA, CDP.
