Overview

The MGH Center for Immigrant Health (CIH) is an interdisciplinary team whose mission is to foster excellence in clinical care, education, advocacy, and research to improve the health and wellbeing of immigrants across all departments and clinical sites at MGH and within the community. The MGH Asylum Clinic (AC) coordinates teams of volunteer MGH clinicians with specialized training to provide forensic medical and psychological evaluations to asylum applicants for documenting evidence of prior trauma or abuse, in close collaboration with local attorneys and legal partners. The Role of the Immigrant Health Program Coordinator involves providing administrative and operational support to both programs, reporting to the CIH Program Manager and collaborating with the AC Director and CIH leadership. The Program Coordinator will assist with CIH activities including growth and development, education, community outreach, monitoring and evaluation, quality improvement, and communication. The role includes organizing and facilitating Asylum Clinic referrals to appropriate clinical providers, supervising administrative volunteers and interns, and working with Asylum clinic volunteers, leadership, administrative staff, and research personnel to create a trauma-informed, welcoming environment. The Coordinator will support CIH and AC engagement and outreach activities, including coordinating the joint quarterly Community Advisory Board and monthly Immigrant Health Coalition meetings, organizing the Migration is Beautiful inclusivity campaign, and collaborating with partner centers and institutions. The position requires strong critical thinking, independence, superb organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, and accountability. The candidate should demonstrate analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a basic knowledge of data management programs and statistical software. The individual will ensure data collection, data entry, and data integrity for facilitating clinical care and reporting to funders. This role is suitable for someone pursuing graduate studies or a career in medicine, public health, social work, health administration, or nonprofit management, with opportunities for program development, research, and training initiatives. Administrative Responsibilities

Managing multiple calendars, scheduling meetings and events, creating and distributing agendas and meeting minutes. Managing multiple email inboxes and distribution lists, triaging incoming telephone calls and emails. Assisting with, developing, and distributing internal and external communications, including website content, priorities and task lists, PowerPoint presentations, memos, newsletters, quarterly and annual reports, and publication content. Assisting with organizational budgeting and management of grants and awards, including expense tracking, facilitating payments and reimbursements, and completing and submitting reports. Developing and planning inventory for materials for distribution to patients and staff at clinical programs and events. Organizing in-person and virtual outreach activities including community events and tabling. Coordinating quarterly Community Advisory Board meetings, including recruitment, agenda setting, communications, and participant remuneration. Supervising administrative volunteers and interns at the Asylum Clinic. Overseeing collaboration with the MGH Patient Support Corps (PSC) and educating PSC volunteers and undergraduate students supporting AC patients prior to appointments. Program Coordination Responsibilities

Maintaining online Asylum Clinic referral systems, triaging and responding to referrals, liaising with attorneys, recruiting clinicians, scheduling interpreters, and coordinating evaluations. Organizing volunteers to adapt to changing programmatic needs, including AC clinical evaluations, administrative tasks, advocacy projects, and research. Conducting data entry and collecting, organizing, maintaining, and analyzing clinical and program data. Using software to generate graphs and reports. Leveraging technology to improve program efficiency (REDCap, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Zoom). Assisting with writing and managing grant proposals and IRBs for program evaluation, quality improvement, and research projects, including grant preparation and administration. Managing relationships with key stakeholders and community and institutional partnerships (community agencies, hospital systems, legal service providers, and Community Advisory Board members). Assisting with recruitment strategies and the hiring/onboarding process for program staff and volunteers, including vetting applications and coordinating interviews. Conducting library/literature searches. Assisting with the implementation of clinical programming and other activities to support the Center for Immigrant Health and Asylum Clinic leadership as needed. Maintain Professional Standards and Follow Protocols

Maintain HIPAA standards and confidentiality of protected health information. Adhere to departmental/organizational policies and procedures. Engage in learning and growth opportunities, including hospital-wide educational events such as Grand Rounds and pursuing relevant training with supervisor approval. Skills/Abilities/Competencies

Bilingual candidates preferred. Awareness of immigration-related trends and issues at the state and national level. Careful attention to detail, superb organizational and time-management skills. Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree holders welcome to apply.
