Overview
Principal Technical Project Manager - Data
at Clarus Technology. This role is part of the startup implementation team and reports to the Chief Data Officer. The leader will develop new capabilities and insights to achieve critical strategic and operational priorities across departments, and will partner with the Senior Leadership team to drive results for business unit initiatives and align to the enterprise data strategy. The position is in a startup environment and will begin as an individual contributor performing the duties of a hands-on project manager for the data function, with potential to hire additional staff as the team grows. Primary Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end program and project management for key data initiatives across the enterprise. Partner with the Chief Data Officer and cross-functional stakeholders to define project goals, success metrics, and roadmaps. Manage a portfolio of complex, high-impact projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. Build and lead a team of project managers or collaborate with matrixed teams across engineering, analytics, product, IT, and business units. Develop standardized frameworks and scalable processes for project tracking, reporting, and governance; report progress to leaders regularly. Facilitate regular project reviews, risk mitigation plans, and executive updates. Drive continuous improvement, resource planning, and cross-functional alignment. Champion data-driven decision-making and agile methodologies within the data org. Qualifications
6+ years of project/program management experience, preferably within data, analytics, or tech environments. Proven experience managing large, cross-functional data or technology projects. Strong understanding of data infrastructure, data governance, data platforms, or analytics lifecycle is a plus. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Adept at using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet) and reporting frameworks. PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus. Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Location
