Overview

The Sr Manager, Lead Architect role is a leadership position responsible for technical and people leadership. This role leads a global team of solution and application architects enabling UDX business and guest experience global solutions across multiple value streams. They will oversee a portfolio of technology design artifacts and ensure architecture artifact delivery globally, following strategic themes and enterprise design patterns. The role involves providing subject matter expertise and guidance on specific solutions, partnering with D&T teams and business leaders, and delivering metrics and KPIs on architectural design work. The leader is expected to inspire UDX culture. Major Responsibilities

Strategy, Architecture, Planning and Delivery – Oversee areas of solution architecture, application architecture, and application design. Enforce consistent technology and architecture design patterns across solutions and ensure designs follow best practices around simplicity, scalability, and flexibility. Act as a subject matter expert and provide architectural expertise and high-level technical assessments. Architecture Delivery – Collaborate with individual architects to author technical design artifacts for value‑stream wide solutions with various integrations. Ensure solution and enterprise roadmaps are integrated into individual solution designs. Ensure documentation is usable by senior executives and developers. Responsible for creating and managing a set of KPIs for architecture delivery. Technical and Cross-team Collaboration – Work with other D&T leaders to ensure architectures are best in class and meet the needs of others. Align solution architects with other architecture groups such as security architecture. Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure and on-site support teams. Team Culture and Staff Development – Lead and mentor direct reports and team members in day-to-day management. Provide decision making and priority management for direct reports. Promote team member satisfaction and a Universal culture with effective communication. Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, information technology or similar preferred. Experience

9+ years in technology delivery and implementation 9+ years’ experience in global/large scale/enterprise solution architecture and platform development Proven experience Extensive experience in front-end and back-end integration design Experience in executive communication and collaboration Experience in stakeholder and partner communication Proven experience with architecture design patterns using NoSQL and SQL databases Experience with the software development lifecycle Universal is an equal opportunity employer.
