Summary Morgan & Morgan is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with at least 1+ years of experience to join its growing complex litigation group, may sit in any office in Hawaii. The Civil Litigation Attorney will handle a complex caseload, up to and including trial. Ideal candidate will have strong plaintiff personal injury and product liability experience. Responsibilities
Day-to-day handling of state and federal cases from inception of identifying potential defect theory to trial of the matter Investigation, drafting and filing of litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memoranda Guiding clients through the case process Interacting with expert witnesses, including preparation of expert reports and affidavits Preparing for and attending depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances Qualifications
Law degree from a fully accredited law school An active member in good standing with the Hawaii State Bar Association Minimum 1+ years of product liability experience, including trial, deposition, and motions experience in technical, complex cases, ideally on behalf of plaintiffs Providing advice and guidance to clients whose cases are in settlement posture, preparing clients’ Plaintiff Fact Sheets, Extraordinary Injury Fund submissions, and impact statements Excellent client service and communication skills Superior writing and oral advocacy skills with close attention to detail Resident of Hawaii preferred to reduce travel from mainland to Hawaii for client meetings Equal Opportunity and Compliance
