Job Description:
The Safety and Health Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing site safety protocols to prevent injury and illness for the project. They will coordinate directly with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent on construction safety requirements and serve as the competent safety individual onsite. Selected applicants must be safety-minded and promote a positive safety culture. This position is being filled to support Kina\'ole\'s Hawaii office located in Honolulu and will support projects throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Responsibilities
Draft, implement and enforce safety procedures through the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with federal, state and company standards. Practice safe working techniques in construction. Provide safety training and identify safety controls to employees, subcontractors and vendors onsite. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Standardize health and safety to remain consistent. Identify hazardous waste and dispose of it correctly. Promote safety initiatives. Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management. Regularly inspect equipment. Minimum Requirements
Must be able to qualify as Level 1 SSHO per EM385-1-1 (2024). Minimum of 5 years of cumulative safety experience within last 10 years, managing or implementing a safety and occupational health program on projects in the Federal construction industry. Must be intimately familiar with USACE EM385-1-1 (2024). Equal Opportunity
