Overview The 3rd to 5th Older Elementary Grade Director will oversee an engaging and relational ministry that combines large group games, interactive teaching, worship, and small group discussion. The goal is to help kids build friendships, grow in their faith, and deepen their understanding of God’s Word. While working interdepartmentally, the Children’s Director will ensure alignment with broader ministry goals and foster collaboration across NextGen and church ministries.
Essential Responsibilities
Foster a safe, biblical, fun, and welcoming ministry environment.
Design programs that balance games, worship, teaching, and small groups.
Oversee and execute age-appropriate worship, activities and games. Currently using Orange curriculum.
Recruit, train, mentor and celebrate volunteers in collaboration with NextGen ministry as a whole. Co-lead the weekly all team huddle.
Organize and execute reach events like VBS, Fall Fest and smaller connect events.
Partner with parents through regular communication and encouragement.
Champion and facilitate spiritual milestone organization such as baptism and dedications.
Ensure safety compliance, program excellence, and strong communication.
Collaborate with NextGen Ministries staff to create a connected faith pathway.
Qualifications And Expectations
Active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years in ministry. Relational leader who values collaboration and direct communication.
Committed to personal growth, innovation, and equipping others for ministry.
