The Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral associate in Applied Linguistics to begin on January 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

Conduct research in second language learning, teaching, assessment, or technology-based instruction, using quantitative or mixed methodologies.

Teach one course in Spring 2026 and one course in Fall 2026.

Mentor students and serve on one departmental committee.

Engage in scholarly activity with the expectation of research and publication; salary is competitive.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment.

Strong promise of excellence in teaching and research; evidence of publication is desirable.

Compensation The projected salary range is

$55,000 to 60,000 , reflecting the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and university needs.
