Overview
This is a limited-term appointment through a Senior Executive Service Contract. The appointment may last up to 18 months in duration with opportunity to be extended based on operational need and performance.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Director's Executive Team (DET), serve as a Senior Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), coordinating the activities of employees and programs. Function as the Chief Administrative Officer. Provide leadership and support for planning, designing, operating, and maintaining all aspects of a comprehensive integrated transportation system that is responsive to current and future needs in accordance with the department's vision, mission, goals, and objectives. Identify, implement, and foster open communication within areas of responsibility. Provide oversight and direction for development and implementation of MDOT’s annual budget and other financial matters. Serve as department's spokesperson with federal, state, and local governments and organizations, the public and private sectors, legislators, and other interested and concerned groups as it relates to areas of responsibility. Select, train, guide, and coach staff in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and policies.
Provide direction and oversight to the Bureau of Finance and Administration (BFA), the International Bridge Authority (IBA), and the Offices of Aeronautics, Enterprise Information Management (EIM), Passenger Transportation, and Rail.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Senior Deputy Director 20 position. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Education and Experience
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Experience: Two years of experience as a director of a division.
