Overview
Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer
Peraton is seeking an Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer to provide cloud platform design, implementation, and support in an enterprise-level environment, supporting the Information Technology Service Desk and Engineering Support program for a Contract at U. S. Department of Health and Human Services. Peraton provides maintenance and operational IT support that includes engineering services for the systems, equipment, hardware, and software. This engineer will design and develop hybrid cloud solutions to help move this organization from an on-prem platform to the cloud. Part of our support team works onsite in Washington, DC at a government facility and candidates do need to be within local commuting distance to DC.
Responsibilities:
The
Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer
should have a deep understanding of Azure Cloud Architecture and Design, including Azure Landing Zone concepts and implementation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Network Architecture, and Programming and Automation in Azure. Candidates with a high level of technical aptitude and software development experience are encouraged to apply. You will be joining a forward-thinking, innovative team that is responsible for building and overseeing public and private servers and network infrastructure in a way that supports key business objectives.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
US Citizenship required
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Deep understanding of Azure Landing Zone design and implementation
Knowledge of Azure Landing Zone concepts, including management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, and RBAC
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) including experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM and other automation tools for Azure Landing Zone deployments
Expertise in designing and implementing Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, network peering, and virtual network gateways for scalable and secure environments
Programming and Automation in Azure
Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, and Bash for automating tasks and configuring resources in Azure
DevOps tools, including familiarity with CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions to support continuous deployment of infrastructure
Knowledge of Azure REST APIs, Azure CLI, and SDKs for automating deployments and managing Azure resources programmatically
Background demonstrating the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment
Experience with architecting and deploying an Azure Landing Zone based on Microsofts Cloud Adoption Framework
Expertise in a wide range of Azure services, including Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall, Azure DNS, Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure AI, and Azure Virtual Desktop. Additional proficiency in Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is highly desirable
Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services
Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and can thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Strong communication skills with the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional departments and teams
Desired Qualifications:
Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end cloud infrastructure, architectures, and designs
Experience with Azure DevOps and Jenkins for deployment automation and management
Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Azure DevOps
Knowledge of additional cloud technologies such as GCP, VMware, API Management, and Identity Management
Knowledge and implementation of enterprise scale cloud security platforms and tooling

Target Salary Range $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
