Full Time State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU) is seeking a Programmer Analyst to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs, web applications, and various reporting tools. The Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Required qualifications and competencies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with credit union staff to determine software needs, development, and implementation of new software programs and applications.
Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures with an eye towards identifying inefficiencies and finding ways to improve them.
Ensure maximum operational effectiveness of SDFCU's computer operations as it pertains to specific software at a minimum of cost to the Credit Union.
Maintain and customize current application software; design, program, and implement software solutions that meet the Credit Union's special needs using Symitar PowerOn, Repgen, SymForm, SymForm PDF and other tools.
Develop reports both within Symitar and from SQL Server databases via .NET or PHP.
Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
Assist in development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
Ensure updating of credit union software by preparing new releases/patches/fixes/flashes from software vendors.
Manages core related vendors and provides updates to IT Core Services Project Manager.
Qualifications Required Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, and platform knowledge such as Symitar (Episys), Repgen, PowerOn
Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL, and knowledge of programming languages such as HTML5, CSS, PHP, Python, Perl, VB, C+, C#, or Java
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective time management abilities
Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and publications
Willingness and ability to learn new programming languages, tools, and technologies
Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Knowledge of data flow, system interactions, and strengths and limitations of software and hardware systems
Comfortable working with internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional groups
Certifications in .NET development, SQL Server, or other programming environments desired
