Payroll Analyst role at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Boston, MA. This role is part of the US and Canada payroll transformation initiative to modernize and streamline payroll processes, partnering with the Payroll Leadership Team and Finance Leaders across North America. The role focuses on analyzing policies and processes to enable efficiencies and alignment with regulatory requirements and payroll industry best practices, while delivering high-quality service to internal and external customers. What You'll Do

Take ownership of policies and practices related to multi-state payroll reporting and tax compliance, including: Reviewing and recalculating employee wages and taxes based on timesheet change reports Managing the multi-state tax equalization process including mid-year stipend data, year-end stipend data, and tax prep assistance payments Auditing monthly employee records to ensure proper multi-state payroll setup Reviewing and adjusting year-end work state wages to ensure accurate W-2 reporting Provide support for mobility-related payroll functions for U.S.-based expatriates and inpatriates, including: Overseeing Certificate of Coverage application processing Ensuring proper withholding of hypothetical taxes on regular and supplemental payrolls Confirming year-end tax entries and taxable benefits are accurately reflected on W-2s Ensuring accurate foreign exchange rate application and year-end adjustments for non-USD payroll Managing intercompany invoicing, reconciliation, and journal entries Plan, steer, organize and coordinate transformation process-related activities and workstreams Demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliverables Build strong partnerships across the organization (HR, technology, etc.) and maintain flexibility and strategic thinking Maintain deep understanding of full cycle payroll operations from input to post-payroll output with proper separation of duties for compliance and audit controls Keep informed on policies and practices related to multi-state payroll reporting and taxation Manage day-to-day escalations and act as a business partner to resolve issues needing senior support Be open to new ideas and adaptable to transformation while maintaining high integrity and confidentiality Work independently, taking initiative Perform other duties and special projects as assigned What You'll Bring

Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience; bachelor's degree preferred 5+ years payroll experience Experience with third-party payroll services (ADP, Ceridian, etc.) including report writing tools Experience in system/operational transformations The role level is flexible to Payroll Senior Analyst depending on skills and experience Key Competencies

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Working knowledge of automation capabilities (Alteryx, Power BI, UI Path, etc.) Knowledge of international mobility rules and multi-state payroll taxation Ability to handle confidential information professionally Strong customer service orientation with problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills across all levels Self-starter, highly motivated and innovative Work Environment

BCG supports a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence 3 to 5 days per week. This role is not remote or fully virtual. Compensation Information

Total compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a comprehensive benefits package. Base salary guidance by location: Boston: $76,500–$94,500 Atlanta: $67,150–$82,950 Other locations: competitive based on role and geography Annual discretionary bonus: 0–12% PSRF contribution: 5% (increases to 10% after two years, vested immediately) Equal Opportunity
