Overview

As a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion. Responsibilities

Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water has broken, or if it is a false alarm. Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring. Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage and emergency procedures. Educate patients on various interventions or procedures—medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages. Assess newborn and provide care. Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family. Job Requirements

Minimum 2 recent years experience in LD. Minimum education as required for licensure. Basic Fetal Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS certifications required. Current California license as a Registered Nurse. Preferred
