Senior Geochemist

Senior Geochemist - Reno, Nevada (Hybrid) SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice providing globally integrated services to the mining and metals sector. We are seeking a Senior Geochemist. Description of Responsibilities: Assist the Geochemistry team with Acid Rock Drainage and Metal Leaching (ARDML) assessments of mine sites; Analyze large geochemical datasets and interpret geochemical data related to mining environments; Predict mine site water quality using geochemical software; Conduct geochemical/environmental fieldwork, including collection of rock, soil, and water samples; Produce high-quality technical reports communicating geochemical information to non-specialists; Manage administrative tasks such as organizing project meetings and documentation, ensuring accurate and timely reporting; Perform additional duties consistent with the role as needed. Essential Requirements: Strong understanding of geochemistry, geology, and mineralogy; Degree in geology or geochemistry, preferably with advanced study in environmental geochemistry and/or hydrogeochemistry; Experience analyzing large geochemical datasets, including quality control, interpretation, and reporting; Knowledge of mining-related environmental issues, regulations, and policies; Experience with geochemical modeling software such as PHREEQC, MINTEQ, and Geochemist's Workbench; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Excellent attention to detail and critical analysis skills; Strong communication skills for verbal presentations and written reports; Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment; Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork; Several years of experience in applied geochemical modeling.
