Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience architecting, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions. Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion. Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Preferred qualifications

Experience securing Google Cloud or other cloud environments. Experience understanding attacks and mitigation methods, in two or more of the following areas: network protocols and secure network design, web application security, security assessments and pen testing, authentication and access control, applied cryptography and security protocols, security monitoring and intrusion detection, incident response and forensics, development of security tools, automation or frameworks. Proficiency in Google Cloud SecOps (Chronicle SIEM/SOAR), including creating detection rules, managing data ingestion and parsing, and performing threat hunting. Experience implementing FedRAMP, PCI or HIPAA security requirements in a cloud environment. Understanding of Cloud security principles.

The Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team guides customers through the moments that matter most in their cloud journey to help businesses thrive. We help customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure. You will provide technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, cloud-ready application architectures, and more. You will work to ensure customers have the best experience migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications in GCP. This role requires deep technical security experience and will have high visibility with executive-level customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Provide domain expertise in cloud security and compliance, and act as a trusted technical advisor to customers. Design and develop cloud security architectures and solutions to meet security requirements. Manage stakeholders within customer environments to deliver consensus and positive outcomes on Google Cloud Platform. Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code. Travel up to 30% for in-region meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities as needed.

Job location and compensation

Location: Various (remote and in-region options). US base salary range is $147,000-$216,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Specific range details will be provided by the recruiter during the hiring process.
