Position Summary Galbraith Grounds Management is hiring a Vice President of Operations. The VP of Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing strategic changes within the organization. Key duties involve developing operational strategies, overseeing multiple landscape divisions, and driving revenue and profitability to achieve operational excellence. This position will play an instrumental role in driving change initiatives, developing future leaders, and promoting a “proud winning culture.”

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Develop and implement business strategies to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Create and implement strategies for large-scale changes with the Senior Leadership Team such as mergers and acquisitions, shared services (facilities, fleet, yard, safety, HR) and integrating new technologies, or adopting new operational models.

Drive changes to increase operational efficiency and profitability such as optimizing fleet/trucking logistics, improving labor hours, purchasing, or managing material utilization.

Oversee the Department Heads to meet financial goals, streamline processes and drive financial accountability.

Lead staff development, partnering with HR to develop a 3-5 year company leadership plan, securing the future leaders of the company through effective succession plans and development programs.

Formulate the branch structure and KPI’s with the Senior Leadership Team.

Clearly communicate the reasons for and impacts of changes to all levels of the organization, from senior leadership to field crews.

Oversee the implementation of new software programs (e.g., Aspire), ensuring successful adoption.

Promote a culture of change: Work to integrate change management into the company's culture, foster a proactive, and desire to win mindset.

Elevate the status of the company within the Region. Be a brand ambassador for Galbraith. Represent the Company at key networking and marketing events.

Work with other departments, such as sales and account management, to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations and promotes customer retention.

Implement and enforce company-wide best practices for job quality, efficiency, safety, and client experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Horticulture, Landscape Management or another discipline.

10–15 years of operational leadership experience, ideally in the landscaping industry, with multi-branch or regional responsibilities.

Candidates should have a deep understanding of large-scale landscape maintenance, construction, and horticulture principles. Experience with industry software, such as Aspire, LMN, or BOSS, is also highly valued.

A strong grasp of financial statements, EBITDA growth strategies, and strategic planning is essential.

Top candidates possess excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
