Director of Strategic Pricing – Domestic & International Transportation Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Director of Strategic Pricing to shape and lead pricing strategy across domestic and international transportation services. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and competitive positioning by developing data-driven pricing models, aligning with commercial objectives, and ensuring compliance with global trade regulations. Our client prefers that this person be based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Greater Greensboro, or the Atlanta Metro. Responsibilities
Build and refine pricing strategies for trucking, intermodal, ocean, and air freight. Create dynamic, market-responsive pricing models using cost, demand, and competitive insights. Define pricing policies that balance profitability, growth, and customer retention. Market & Competitive Analysis
Track transportation market trends, carrier rates, and competitor activity. Identify growth opportunities through analysis of buying behaviors and trade lane developments. Apply benchmarking, predictive analytics, and modeling to inform decisions. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales to deliver competitive bids that enhance win rates and profitability. Collaborate with Operations and Procurement to negotiate carriers and optimize costs. Work with Finance on forecasting, margin analysis, and revenue impact. Leadership & Governance
Lead and mentor a team of pricing professionals, fostering innovation and accountability. Establish governance processes to ensure pricing discipline and compliance. Define KPIs to measure pricing effectiveness, deal profitability, and business impact. Technology & Process Improvement
Use pricing software, analytics platforms, and automation tools to improve accuracy and scalability. Drive continuous improvement in pricing processes, data quality, and reporting. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred). 10+ years’ experience in pricing, revenue management, or commercial strategy within logistics, transportation, or supply chain. Strong knowledge of domestic trucking, intermodal, ocean, and air freight markets. Financial acumen with P&L impact analysis and margin optimization experience. Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Excel, pricing tools, and analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SQL a plus).
