Full-time position with hours Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 PM Responsibilities

Lead technical support for the sale of carbon, equipment, and service in domestic or international markets. Interface with Equipment Engineering, R&D, Equipment and Assembly, Product Management, and Sales to provide the technical justification for activated carbon technology in customer applications. Assist in the technical development of emerging markets/applications related to area of focus; provide lead technical and business support for key global business development groups. May supervise entry or intermediate applications engineers. Use technical expertise, models, and data to select appropriate carbon and equipment for liquid and vapor phase applications and predict performance under customer conditions. Set-up and monitor pilot trials in the field; provide design information for future full-scale systems. Interpret data from lab and field trials to provide technical design and operational recommendations. Troubleshoot customer problems such as short filter run-times or unexpected breakthrough. Provide application engineering support for geographic regions or set of Technical Sales Reps. Collaborate with R&D on development/testing of new carbon products/applications. Provide technical guidance to engineers with less experience and to overseas colleagues when needed. Prepare and deliver technical training for TSR on new topics, applications, etc., and ensure consistency of technical messages. In coordination with leadership, develop strategies to expand existing base business and develop new opportunities through CCC technology adoption; review results and adjust strategy as needed. Provide technical lead for the Business Unit on CCC global initiatives and cross-business segment projects. Work closely with other CCC global regions on multi-territory projects. Act as technical support and back-up contact related to specific projects for Sales; serve as liaison between Sales and internal support teams (Product and Project Management). Review bid specifications for clarity and acceptance; provide recommendations to improve technical quality and manage risk. Serve as main Calgon Carbon contact when the Technical Sales Rep is unavailable. Participate in industry forums related to emerging markets and existing applications; attend conferences and trade shows to gain knowledge and represent Calgon Carbon as a leader in activated carbon. Prepare and present papers/posters at conferences, trade shows and virtual opportunities (e.g., webinars). Develop and present technical presentations/training to engineering consultants, clients, regulators, legislators, and others to influence selection of treatment solutions. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Chemical Engineering or related engineering/chemistry field, or equivalent from a four-year college or university. 10+ years of experience in applying carbon adsorption technology to address customer requirements in liquid and gas purification, including carbon modeling, equipment design and development, and equipment functionality. 5-7 years of experience in the use and troubleshooting of adsorption equipment at customer sites.
