Principal Technology Consultant at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Hybrid role designed with an expectation to work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office. Job Description: HPE Morpheus Enterprise is a unified platform to simplify the consumption of hybrid clouds, container clusters, and infrastructure automation tools. It serves as the orchestration and automation foundation for the HPE Hybrid Cloud Portfolio. This is an opportunity to join a team of technology experts supporting our core cloud management platform, expanding integrations, developing automation and plugins, and maximizing the value of HPE Morpheus Software. Responsibilities
Responsible for verifying and implementing the detailed technical design solution to the problem as identified by the Project/Technical Manager. Often responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions. Lead in the technical assessment and delivery of specific technical solutions to the customer. Provide a team structure conducive to high performance and manage the team lifecycle stages. Coordinate implementation of new installations, designs, and migrations for technology solutions in networks, applications or platforms. Provide advanced technical consulting and advice on proposal efforts, solution design, system management, tuning and modification of solutions. Input to the company strategy moving forward. Collect and determine data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements; respond to requests for technical information from customers. Develop customer technology solutions using various industry products and technologies. Engage in technical problem solving across multiple technologies and develop new methods as needed. Own and manage knowledge sharing within a community (team, practice, or project); contribute significant knowledge to the job family community and encourage participation. Proactively encourage membership and contributions of others to the professional community and coach others in area of expertise. Produce knowledge briefs, service delivery kit components, modules, etc. Present at multi-customer technology conferences. Support sales activities by managing bids or major input into the sales lifecycle and producing complete proposals for smaller engagements; grow the company portfolio with existing customers through new opportunities and change management. Education And Experience Required
8+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related field; without a degree, three additional years of relevant experience (11+ years total). Knowledge
Design and scope multiple deliverables across several technologies; demonstrated innovation and communication of new deliverables and offerings. Led teams in delivering multiple deliverables across technologies; understands architectural dependencies in the customer IT environment. Recognized expert in one or more technologies within the technical community; holds a vendor or industry certification. Broad knowledge across technical areas to manage complex integration; apply technical expertise in successful engagements across disciplines. Skills
Develop solutions that enhance availability, performance, maintainability, and agility of a customer’s enterprise. Contribute to design and application of new tools; reuse experience to develop new solutions for market. Communicate with internal and external senior management with professionalism; diagnose complex problems within multi-technology environments. Summarize prognosis and impact at practice lead level; adapt consulting style to situations and identify up-sell opportunities. Present domain-specific information in customer sales presentations; lead requirements, designs, plans, and estimates with others; produce proposals for smaller engagements. Independently complete solution implementation or application design deliverables; manage a team of consultants on one or more deliverables. Skills – KVM And Virtualization Technologies
Strong understanding of KVM architecture, including QEMU and kernel module configuration. Manage virtual machines using libvirt, virsh, and virt-manager; in-depth experience with virtual networking (bridged, NAT, macvtap, Open vSwitch). Configure and manage KVM storage backends (LVM, iSCSI, NFS, Ceph, QCOW2/raw). Automate provisioning of VMs using cloud-init, Terraform, and Ansible; familiar with OpenStack or oVirt integration. Knowledge of KVM performance tuning (CPU pinning, hugepages, I/O optimization); virtio drivers, SR-IOV, PCI passthrough for I/O performance. Experience with KVM live migration, snapshotting, and VM backup strategies; knowledge of SELinux/AppArmor for guest isolation and security. Understanding of KVM hardening and secure multi-tenant configurations; integration of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Zabbix, Grafana). Additional Skills
