Overview
Copy of Group Director, Paid Search (Remote). We are looking for a strong, passionate, and energetic Paid Search leader to drive growth and strategic oversight across the paid search department with a focus on working on our largest accounts and serving as an SME on LLM optimization for organic and paid synergy. This role is a people-focused leader who enjoys hands-on, cross-functional collaboration in a fast-growing, innovative digital agency focused on client performance and ROI. Responsibilities
Reporting to our SVP, Head of Search, lead SEM channel specialists (Paid search, YouTube, Demand Gen, PMax, Shopping, and App) and Account Leads managing direct client partnerships, contract negotiations/renewals, client onboarding, etc. Serve as a Search thought leader prepared to respond to the changing landscape. Drive revenue from new business, client relationships, and client growth; escalate issues across a top client set as needed. Present Paid Search and organic strategy, performance, and tactical priorities to clients and internal stakeholders. Assist with client staffing and scoping; participate in and lead new business pitches for Paid Search and/or SEO. Partner with cross-channel leads on media plans, forecasting, testing, tactical plans, and reporting. Drive Paid Search strategy, innovation, and testing on your book of business; develop quarterly/annual roadmaps to advance accounts with latest trends and opportunities. Present QBRs, planning presentations, and testing plans regularly; lead client calls from a paid search perspective. Forecast, budget, and perform diminishing return analysis. Manage a team from Account Managers to Directors; own team growth, training, mentorship, and retention; involved in hiring and onboarding. Lead a team with advanced SEM skills and multichannel digital marketing strategy; oversee projections, analytics reporting, and client management. Provide feedback, performance reviews, and recognition; support career pathing and coaching; sponsor senior client relationships and holistic digital strategy on accounts. Train the team, department, and agency; contribute to team morale, culture, and mentoring; contribute to department training, POVs, and case studies. Collaborate with Google, Bing, and other vendor partners on alpha/beta opportunities, expansion opportunities, client strategy, planning, and best practices. Operationalize processes and drive adoption across team focus areas; support a hybrid working model. About You
The essentials:
10+ years Paid Search experience Experience communicating with senior clients from VPs to C-Suite Experience managing Paid Search budgets of at least $1MM+ in monthly ad spend Recent experience optimizing to LLMs across paid and organic search; experience in both organic and paid search Experience directing strategy in D2C or Retail, B2B, and B2C across verticals is a plus Experience in YouTube, Performance Max, Demand Gen, Value-Based Bidding; understanding offline conversion data and CRM integrations with Google Ads is a plus Advanced slide deck creation and Excel/Google Sheets skills Experience presenting paid search strategy to marketing executives and large teams 5+ years of management experience with at least 3 direct reports at Associate Director level and above Experience with bid management platforms (e.g., SA360, Skai, Marin) preferred 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive.
