Penn State Health Children’s Hospital is recruiting a
Pediatric Hematologist
to join our growing team in the Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology. This physician will provide comprehensive, team-focused care and collaborate closely with colleagues across specialties to ensure the highest quality outcomes for patients. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and may have interest in contributing to clinical research and trials to advance the field. Duties will include inpatient consultation, outpatient consultation, outpatient clinics, and inpatient service. This is a non-tenure track position at the Assistant to Full Professor academic rank, commensurate with the applicant’s experience and accomplishments. What we’re seeking
BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in managing children and adolescents with hematologic conditions. Experience in thrombosis and hemostasis preferred. MD, M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent. Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania About us
The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology has 15 full-time Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists and 12 Ph.D. faculty. New faculty members would be joining 4 Hematologists dedicated to the care of children and young adults with a wide range of hematologic conditions. The Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) of Central Pennsylvania is part of the Penn State Health Comprehensive Hemophilia and Thrombosis program serving pediatric and adult families with hemophilia. The HTC cares for over 600 patients from 39 counties in central Pennsylvania. The subdivision of Pediatric Hematology participates in the Pennsylvania Department of Health Specialty Care Program Grants through the Bureau of Family Health and is a referral center for individuals born with hemoglobinopathies. The subdivision of Pediatric Hematology participates in a multidisciplinary Women and Girls with Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Clinic. The Division is an active member of COG, POETIC, and the lead organization for the Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium. The Program is part of an interdepartmental genetics initiative by the institution. A wide range of model systems and experimental approaches are of interest and strong collaborations between basic and clinical research and clinical trials are encouraged. The division has an accredited Pediatric Heme/Onc fellowship program. Research is supported by the Penn State Cancer Institute, the Penn State Institute for Personalized Medicine, an NIH-funded CTSI, and Pediatric Clinical Trials Office.
