$216,000.00-$270,000.00 The Division of Psychiatry and Medicine within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking up to two full-time academic psychiatrists for its Inpatient Consultation Liaison Service on its Moses Campus and a full-time academic psychiatrist to join our world-renowned Abdominal Transplant Service. Responsibilities
The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry service at Moses is a busy and innovative consultation and teaching service which continues to expand to meet the mental health and addictions treatment needs of the medical center. The two new full-time Consultation Liaison academic attendings will join our existing multidisciplinary team of four and 1/2 psychiatrist Consultation Liaison Psychiatrists, two Transplant Psychiatrist, three psychologists, and a social worker. The Consultation Psychiatrists will be responsible for direct inpatient consultation patient care, consults and supervision of trainees’ consults, division, and departmental activities. The Abdominal Transplant Psychiatrist position follows collaborative care. The new Psychiatrist shares all the resources of a busy transplant center, including excellent administrative staff, six social workers, pharmacists, psychologists, care coordinators, nutritionists, and doctors from various disciplines. While the Psychiatrist is embedded in the Transplant Center, they are very much part of the Consultation Liaison Team. Requirements
As a team we participate in the education and training of many different learners including medical students, Psychiatry and Neurology Residents, Consultation Liaison and Addiction Fellows, and Psychology Interns. The Moses campus hospital is a 750-bed tertiary care, referral hospital with a wide range of services. While the hospital draws patients from the tri-state area, the mission of Montefiore is oriented to providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the Bronx communities with a focus on social determinants of health and social justice. Montefiore and the Department of Psychiatry are committed to career and academic development, physician and family wellness, diversity and inclusion and excellence in patient care and medical education.
