R136386**About the Opportunity**# About this opportunity:## Reporting to the Associate Director for Pre-Award Administration at the College of Engineering’s Administrative Resource Center (ARC), the Senior Grant Administrator provides Pre-Award support to a designated portfolio of faculty with a complex, and diversified portfolio of research activities. Working closely with faculty, the Sr. Grants Administrator ensures research proposals submission in a timely manner and in compliance with announcement, agency, federal government, and Northeastern University policies and regulations. The Sr. Grants Administrator provides high quality customer service and ensures quality of support to fulfill proposal requirements for all institutions involved ensuring timely internal routing and approval of proposal packages. The Sr. Grans Administrator works closely with the post-award team, faculty, and the Northeastern Research Enterprise to ensure a seamless, timely and successful lifecycle of the research administration process. Acting with minimal supervision, the Sr. Grants Administrator is an independent problem solver, who takes initiative to resolve questions and move processes forward. The Sr. Grants Administrator will support ARC efforts to provide high standards of customer service and will take the lead in tasks aimed at ensuring completion of proposal records in a timely manner and with complete, finalized files attached to each proposal in the ePaws system. The Sr. Grants Administrator participates in outreach activities to educate faculty and administrators to improve the success rate of COE proposals. This person will establish and implement submission procedures relating to grant and proposal development. Participate in development and implementation of training and education programs that promote a clearer understanding of the grants management process.# # Key Responsibilities:* ## (70%) The Senior Grants Administrator’s primary responsibility is to review federal agency and foundation solicitations, fellowships, and corporate contracts; provide administrative support for proposal preparation and development; interpret sponsor requirements; ensure compliance with guidelines; work with faculty to create budgets/ budget justifications and other administrative support documents based on various scenarios to ensure a successful proposal submission. Negotiates and facilitates time-sensitive requests in the award-making process. Ensure completion of proposals in the ePaws system on the day a proposal is submitted or as soon as possible after the proposal is submitted.* ## (10%)Carry out administrative tasks needed to improve and maintain quality of Pre-Award administration. Maintain records, including in the proposals tracker, faculty information, such as agency credentials, and ensuring that proposals files are complete and organized in the “Grants” network folder and in the ePaws system records.* ## (10%) Drafts and updates proposal submission procedures and contributes to maintaining and improving the COE Pre-Award manual; initiate and complete best practice documents and present the best practices to colleagues. Trains staff on both proposal procedures and proposal management software.* ## (5%) Partners with a designated ARC Pre-Award team member to serve as first-hand reviewer of proposals and serves as back up for team members as needed* ## (5%) Promotes a learning culture by attending professional development events and sharing information with peers and faculty.
