As the Business Development Specialist, you will work with the Transactional Business Development Manager and team on a broad range of initiatives that support revenue generation, marketing, and visibility efforts for practice and industry groups including Bankruptcy & FinancialRestructuring,Corporate,Labor& Employment,LifeSciences,RealEstate, Taxand Technology. Specific areas of focus will include support for events andsponsorships, pitches and RFPs, research, market visibility andrecognition efforts, marketing content development and experience management, general business development activities and more. The Specialist assists in strategicplanningandtacticalexecutionandcompletesresearchandanalysisinsupportofDepartmentobjectives. About the Role Supports and, where required, leads the planning and execution of firm events including seminars, webinars, client entertainment and receptions, in collaboration with the firm’s Operations and Events department. For firm events, leads audience development by developing targeted invitation lists, tracking RSVPs, attendeeengagementand follow-up efforts. Helps maintain the firm’s contact management database (InterAction) and performs queries and generates reports as needed. Supports andcoordinatessponsorships and annual memberships tofully leverage benefits. Prepares sophisticated, thoughtful and persuasive pitch materials, including RFP responses andtailoredmarketingcollateral. In collaboration with the Library, reviews and conducts research on companies, industries,marketplaces and competitors related to pitches and other strategic initiatives; develops insights andcommunicatesrecommendations and applicableinformationtolawyers. Gathers intelligence on legal industry trends to provide attorneys with an understanding of thecompetitivelandscapeandtopositionthefirmforincreasedeffectivenessinwinningnewbusiness Contributes to market recognition efforts, including overseeing the development of legal directorysubmissions(Chambers USA, Legal500, etc.) In coordination with the Public Relations, Communications, and Digital Marketing teams, identify and promote key deals, matters, client news and practice highlights both internally and externally. Helps maintain the firm’s experience and content management database (Foundation) and performsqueriesand generatesreports as needed. Acts in conjunction with Communications and Digital Marketing teams to propose and supportmarketing communications-related activities, such as website updates, improvements to attorneybiographiesand online profiles includingLinkedIn. PerformsspecialprojectsasrequestedbyClients & Markets leadershipteam. Displays integrity, quality service and a “can do” attitude to internal members/departments of the firmas well as external clients and vendors via email and written correspondence, over the telephone andin-person. Education: BA/BS required. Experience: Three - five or more years of experience in legal environment or professional services marketing andbusinessdevelopmentrolepreferred.
