The Healthcare Industry Group (HIG), a subsidiary of A&M, delivers transformational change to the healthcare industry. Our professionals advise organizations on financial and operational performance improvement, strategic growth, and value unlocking across the investment lifecycle. We provide expertise in interim management, restructuring, revenue cycle management, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and regulatory, digital technology and analytics. You will work with clients in various sectors including health systems, providers, physician groups, ancillary providers, medical schools, vision, laboratory, dental, behavioral health, managed care and health plans, government programs, medical devices, and life sciences. HIG’s Healthcare Services (HCS) practice focuses on serving private equity portfolio companies and healthcare organizations with services such as performance improvement, cost optimization, M&A support, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services). How You Will Contribute
As a consultant you will work closely with healthcare clients on a range of complex assignments in a team environment, using independent judgment and critical thinking to drive practical solutions and add client value. Depending on the project, responsibilities may include: Rapidly building and maintaining financial and operational models to assess client performance (including synergy analyses, 13-week cash flows, and pro forma statements) Conducting operational data analysis to develop KPI metrics that drive meaningful change Evaluating business operations and supporting performance improvement initiatives Analyzing process workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions Participating in client interviews and capturing actionable items Forecasting cash flows and managing liquidity Benchmarking internal and external data Performing analysis and developing reports and deliverables Preparing client-ready deliverables and presentations; assisting with client presentations Conducting healthcare research Assisting with the development of presentations, pitches, and proposal content We pursue a hands-on, entrepreneurial, action-oriented culture that emphasizes delivering transformational change and impact in healthcare. High energy individuals with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare-related experience in healthcare, consulting, or healthcare industry sectors (e.g., healthcare banking, accounting, audit, private equity, or healthcare operations) Working knowledge of the healthcare industry Strong Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills (synergy analyses, pro forma analyses, 13-week cash flows); ability to create and maintain models Solid understanding of accounting and finance, including financial statement analysis Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to all levels of client personnel Solid project management and organizational skills Ability to conduct operational data analysis and synthesize information to develop reports and KPIs Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience with Visio, Tableau/Power BI, SQL, SPSS; benchmarking is a plus Willingness and ability to travel as required BA/BS and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related healthcare fields (e.g., MHA, MPH) Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA, or progress toward such certifications Your Journey at A&M
