Our client, a dynamic and growing Real Estate company, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper
to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations and supporting the financial health of the company’s real estate portfolio. This position is vital to maintaining accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all financial matters related to property management, development, and investment activities. Responsibilities
Manage and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements specific to real estate assets. Assist in preparing property-level budgets and forecasts, tracking variances and providing insights to property managers and senior leadership. Reconcile tenant ledgers, process rent rolls, and track lease-related income and expenses. Collaborate with property managers and project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting for ongoing developments and property acquisitions. Coordinate with external accountants or auditors during audits; implement audit recommendations as needed. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and real estate industry standards. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within the real estate or property management industry. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, AppFolio, Yardi, or similar real estate platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate-specific accounting practices. Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with real estate development or property management accounting. Familiarity with lease administration and tenant billing processes. Experience managing books for multiple entities or property portfolios. Seniority level
