Lead Fire Alarm and Access Control Technician located in California, Texas, Arizona, or Nevada (must live within 1 hour of a major airport). Travel: 75–90%. This is a high‑impact, field‑based role with significant travel across the U.S., reporting to the Technical Operations Manager. At Honeywell, you will protect people, property, and operations by ensuring the performance, reliability, and integration of fire alarm, life safety, and access control systems. You will provide advanced technical expertise in programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance, while mentoring junior technicians and supporting customer success. Key Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites 75–90% of the time to perform service, installation, and technical support. Program, configure, and test fire alarm panels (Notifier, Honeywell XLS-3000, ZLS-140) and access control/security systems (ProWatch, Lenel, Vindicator). Troubleshoot and repair complex fire alarm, life safety, and security system issues. Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure NFPA code compliance and operational readiness. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and project managers to ensure successful implementation of integrated fire and security solutions. Interpret technical drawings, fire codes, and system specifications. Provide mentorship and technical training to junior technicians and customers. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance records. Stay current with industry trends, Honeywell solutions, and emerging technologies. Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range is $65,400–$98,200. This range is a general guideline; offers depend on the scope of the role, candidate experience, education, skills, and market considerations. High School Diploma or equivalent. 5+ years’ hands‑on experience with fire protection, fire alarm systems, and/or access control/security systems (CCTV, card access, badge readers). Experience with fire alarm panel programming and system integration. NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Strong understanding of NFPA codes, fire regulations, and security system standards. Valid driver’s license, ability to travel up to 90%, and ability to pass FAA background check. We Value

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Certifications or experience with Honeywell Building Management Systems (EBI, Niagara, ProWatch, Lenel OnGuard, Lenel Elements). Notifier Onyx training/certification. Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Proven ability to work independently and mentor others. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
