The Main Campus Emergency Department provides top-quality care to patients 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Our caregivers treat over 61,000 adult and pediatric patients annually, providing a critical link to healthcare for our community, the region and the world (through Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport). As an LPN on this team, you will interact with 158 fellow healthcare staff, collaborating to create the best possible experience for patients, families and visitors. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
Responsibilities
Collect, document and report patient data and observations. Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions. Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions. Perform routine laboratory tests. Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program. Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
Preferred qualifications
One year of patient care experience.
Physical requirements
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination. Involves extensive standing and walking. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
