Joule is currently hiring a Clinical Research Contracts Manager
for an innovative pharmaceutical client located in
Alameda, CA
. This is a
6-month, full-time contract position
offering a dynamic opportunity to support cutting-edge clinical research and development initiatives. As a key member of the legal/contracts team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting research, development, and supply chain operations by
drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide range of contracts . Your contributions will directly support the company’s mission to bring impactful therapies to patients faster. What You’ll Do: Draft, negotiate, and manage a variety of contracts, including:
Confidentiality agreements
Consulting and service agreements
Materials transfer agreements
Research agreements
Clinical study agreements
Vendor and service agreements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across R&D, supply chain, and legal functions to resolve business and legal questions
Analyze contract-related risks and communicate them effectively to leadership
Assist with reviewing and troubleshooting existing agreements
Maintain contract tracking systems and ensure accurate status updates
Support in-house attorneys on legal matters and ad hoc projects
What We’re Looking For: Education & Experience: BS/BA in a related field with
5+ years of relevant experience
JD preferred
, with
2+ years of related experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of the
contract lifecycle
— from drafting through execution
Familiarity with
pharmaceutical/biotech industry contracts
and regulatory considerations
Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with teams like R&D, Commercial, HR, Finance, and Legal
Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
